Description
University Neighbourhoods Association:
Chief Administrative Officer:
The University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) is seeking a well-rounded leader, passionate about public service and community building, to become its next Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
The UNA is a not-for-profit society with a unique governance and operational structure, which provides a mix of municipal-like services and programs to approximately 15,000 residents who live across five residential neighbourhoods located on the University of British Columbia's Point Grey campus, which sits on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Musqueam First Nation.
Collectively, the university neighbourhoods are one of the fastest growing communities in BC.Its residents are on average younger than residents in the City of Vancouver, and over half the residents have a university degree.
This is an appealing career opportunity for an experienced municipal CAO or equivalent senior executive who is committed to providing expert professional advice and support to a progressive and dynamic organization.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CAO is responsible for the oversight of all UNA operations including providing policy advice and support to the Board, strategic planning and implementation, program development, public communications, interagency relations and partnerships (with UBC partners, municipal stakeholders, UNA residents, volunteers and other community organizations), and hands-on operational and financial management.
An additional key component of the job is providing support and mentorship to an experienced and dedicated team of professional staff.
The UNA is prepared to offer a competitive salary commensurate with knowledge and experience, including a comprehensive benefit package, relocation assistance and a flexible in-office/work from home model.
