The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Fleet Supply & Weapons Services Bureau are seeking a qualified individual to join our unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide financial, analytical and administrative services to the Fleet, Supply & Weapons Services Bureau (FSWSB), in the areas of controllership, fiscal and risk management, forecasting, financial planning, procurement, monitoring and reporting, while ensuring compliance with OPP, Ministry and Government policies and procedures.

Bureau members work behind the scenes to provide planning, procurement, fleet management, vehicle services and Garage Operations to ensure the OPP is well equipped for daily operations.

What can I expect to do in this role?: To provide financial, analytical and administrative services to the Fleet, Supply & Weapons Services Bureau (FSWSB), in the areas of controllership, fiscal and risk management, forecasting, financial planning, procurement, monitoring and reporting, while ensuring compliance with OPP, Ministry and Government policies and procedures.


How do I qualify?:


Mandatory:


  • Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of Financial Administration Act, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; accounting policies, procedures and program evaluation practices; financial & procurement operating policies and procedures.
  • Research skills to research financial controls and budget forecasting methods to recommend improvements to existing methods and procedures.
  • Organizational and analytical skills to determine objectives and priorities, and to plan, direct and coordinate various projects within established timeframes. Mathematical skills to create and troubleshoot complex mathematical formulae and perform detailed calculations.
  • Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Analytical skills to interpret and analyze financial and statistical data/information; identify and resolve issues related to the accuracy and verification of data; resolve problems or conflicts arising from financial transactions; and assess the impact of proposed changes.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills to identify potential problems with existing financial methods, reporting procedures and tools; research improved methods and controls; and recommend improvements within program parameters.
