Primary Responsibilities:


  • Communicating with clients to obtain documents
  • Reviewing, summarizing and indexing records
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, affidavits of documents, status reports, etc.
  • Maintaining communication and updates with clients including scheduling meetings
  • Assisting with regular reporting to clients
  • Communicating with plaintiffs' and codefendants' counsel to obtain appropriate productions
  • Managing productions and medicals in Relativity
  • Summarizing medicals into a medical chronology
  • Analyzing and summarizing other productions
  • Ensuring files are prepared for Examinations for Discovery, including preparing of chronologies and/or medical summaries
  • Identifying appropriate experts, and retaining and communicating with them
  • Reviewing discovery transcripts and following up for and tracking undertakings
- preparing for trial, including Pre-Trial, Trial, Pre-Hearing and Hearing preparation

  • Managing electronic hearings and trials
  • Maintaining the electronic Bring Forward database and managing client milestone reporting
  • Drafting closing documents including draft orders, consents, and releases;
  • Arranging surveillance
  • Maintaining files

Qualifications:


  • At least five (5) years of experience as a Law Clerk, with preference for experience in Litigation in a practice area requiring initiative and drive to move files forward;
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keen ability to work independently and as part of a fastpaced team
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Experience using Relativity, Document Management Systems would be an asset
