Job Description:


The Design Manager will own and execute on all aspects of product concept and design as led by the Design Director.

Working closely with the whole design team and managing the junior team members, the Design Manager will partner on a continuous basis to successfully create premium product, supporting the consumer experience and the Canada Goose brand.

The Design Manager will lead conceptual design process, manage calendar deliverables & workflow for their team and ensure world class product execution.

The Design Manager will collaborate cross-departmentally to conceptualize and develop a strong seasonal product assortment appropriate for Canada Goose.

Exceptional project and time management skills are a must, paired with the ability to engage the existing core audience while seeking new ways to build and evolve the premium global brand.


What You'll Do:


  • Work with the Design Director and Design team to observe and drive calendar deliverables, as it relates to the Product Pipeline process
  • Research and design a designated number of styles from concept to proto approval, managing up to the Design Director
  • Work closely with Merchandising partners to ensure all designs support the business objectives
  • Responsible for project management and executional leadership of direct reports to ensure excellent execution of all products
  • Participate in and develop seasonal product and concept research to support the Design Director
  • Enter all data required into PLM and updating as required for all styles determined by the Design Director
  • Work closely with PDE partners to communicate designs, BOMs and updates/changes throughout the proto process
  • Be the independent Design voice in fittings on designated styles
  • Lead work with the Materials department to develop and adopt fabrics and trims for designated styles/collections
  • Lead development mockups to support seasonal concept
  • Manage Assistant Designer in color key creation and communication for designated styles
  • Travel required: up to 20%
  • All other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About You:


  • 8+ years of applicable working Design experience within an Apparel Design role
  • Computer Skill; included proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
  • Expert level knowledge of Apparel product construction
  • Expert knowledge of materials (fabrics and trims)
  • Expert in technical apparel sketching (CAD)
  • Prior experience with Product Line Management (PLM) required
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and management skills
  • Extensive experience presenting Design and Concept to a crossfunctional audience
  • Extensive experience working in partnership with Merchandising and Product Development
  • Has a critical eye on the market, runway and current trends
  • Brings newness to the design process through exploratory thinking and executing
  • Ability to work as a team and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion
