I. JOB SUMMARY

This position will foster teamwork and accountability, Striving for excellence and innovation to drive efficiencies in the Accounting department, as well as providing excellent internal customer service to other Emergent departments.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and cost center management reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and investigate variances and prepare reconciliation vs. budget, actual, forecast, and prior year's results.
  • Assist monthly economics metrics and analysis.
  • Assist monthly budgeting and forecasting.
  • Complete various other reconciliations and analysis of accounting and financial data, working collaboratively with other Finance staff.
  • Observe and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls in helping maintain a strong internal control environment and respond to various queries and requests from external/internal auditors.
  • Maintain detailed procedures for assigned tasks striving for organization and efficiency.
  • Coaching and providing mentorship to other accountants.
  • Complete Special projects and nonroutine assignments as may be required by management.
  • Working on projects independently.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, have excellent problem solving skills and be very detail oriented.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting.
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines is essential. Position will require ability to work with mínimal supervision, review and approve other accountants work. A broad range of prior work experience is preferred (Cost Accountant, Financial Accountant, Supervisor, Analyst, Industry specific experience).
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP/ERP preferred) and budgeting/forecasting cycle processes and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, and able to work independently or as a part of a team.
