    As a prominent marine engineering integrator in Canada, we are on the lookout for skilled individuals to join Fleetway and contribute towards our leadership in Canadian naval defense projects, specifically in the realm of In-Service Support. Our projects are centered on government vessel design and support, covering a range of vessels such as warships, ferries, ice-breakers, and commercial ships. We are seeking proficient Jr. Naval Architect Technologists to join our teams in Dartmouth NS, St. John's NL, Ottawa ON, or Victoria BC.

    Our Jr. Naval Architect Technologists play a vital role in the Fleetway Engineering team, where they are responsible for developing 3D models, drawings, and technical analyses. They also play a key role in executing engineering change proposals and systems integration projects for both government and commercial vessels. Their reputation in the industry is built on their hands-on experience in marine engineering environments and their knack for delivering effective solutions to engineering challenges faced by clients.

    Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

    • Developing 3D models and 2D drawings of ship equipment and compartment arrangements
    • Conducting technical studies, preparing drawings, and drafting specifications for government and commercial vessels
    • Generating reports and selecting equipment
    • Performing structural design and analysis tasks
    • Implementing Engineering Changes in existing designs
    • Participating in systems integration projects
    • Carrying out engineering analyses like finite element analysis, weights, or stability assessments (GHS)

    Skill, Capabilities, and Experience:

    • Education Requirements: Associate's Degree or Naval Architecture Diploma
    • Required Experience:
      • 1-5+ years of proven hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design/integration projects
    • Proficiency in Microstation and/or AutoCAD software
    • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
    • Familiarity with Rhino or other 3D modeling tools is an advantage
    • Prior experience in the marine industry is essential
      • Experience in Naval Warship engineering design is a bonus

    All successful candidates must meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security clearance.
