The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of production, maintenance, quality assurance and safety for MetalCraft's manufacturing facilities in both Kingston ON and Watertown NY.
Responsibilities involve coordination of the plant's manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with Company objectives, quality systems, and client expectations. It is expected that the Operations Manager will be a visible, hands-on leader within the operation, leading by example.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to ensure effective daytoday utilization of shop personnel and equipment.
- Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup, develop a cohesive team, and maintain high job satisfaction among employees.
- Build a quality culture aligned with customer needs and driven by a continuous improvement mindset.
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production in our multishop environment.
- Oversee the management of materials inventory, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and development of all related facility employees.
- Establish budgets and manage costs to drive improved financial performance.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Ensure that all safety and compliance practices are consistently followed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in plant operations management.
- Proven skills in leadership, supervision, coaching, and team building.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of and adherence to industrial safety standards.
- High degree of computer literacy, technical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a wide range of projects and tasks.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of boats is a definite asset.
- Experience in an engineeredtoorder manufacturing environment is an asset.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Pay:
$90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
