Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team.As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines and tools to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications.
Your expertise in machining techniques and ability to interpret technical drawings will be essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient production of components.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills, to fabricate precision parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and dimensions.
- Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to verify dimensions of finished parts and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and machine accessories according to job requirements.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and maximize production efficiency.
- Program and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to execute machining tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Keep accurate records of production activities, including materials used, production quantities, and inspection results.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and materials.
- Familiarity with operating manual and CNC machines.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License is a requirement.
Schedule:
We are actively hiring for the day and afternoon shift, working 40 hours per week.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$30.00-$35.00 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:

- Maple Ridge, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
