Purpose of Job:


  • The Project Manager is responsible for providing engineering and administrative support to coordinate the work flow of the New Product Development Group.

Principal Accountabilities:


  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Facilitate and manage prototype board
  • Following up with internal and external stake holders
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Facilitate and manage prototype board
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Produce reports for performance metrics as directed by Director of New Product Development
  • Attend all EPW drawing review meetings to help ensure accuracy of prints/manufacturing processes early in the project
  • Review EPW/Prototype binder before release to manufacturing group
  • Creating Work Orders for prototypes in an ERP system
  • Book Quad P as necessary
  • Meet regularly with members of New Product Development to track due dates on assigned tasks
  • Meet with the sales team to discuss progress on quotes
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Manage the Drawings folders as necessary
  • Initiate and/or revise standards, work instructions and other relevant documents.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate engineering records and organize reference library, including manufacturing files, test procedures, assembly procedures, Solid Works files etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:


  • Wear all required PPE while in plant.
  • Work safely & ergonomically by following H&S policies.
  • Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant.
  • Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
  • Inspect equipment and the workplace regularly.
  • Be alert for hazards.
  • Cooperate with others on matters relating to occupational safety and health.

Knowledge, Skills and Education:


  • Postsecondary diploma/degree engineering technology preferred.
  • Solidworks knowledge will be considered an asset.
  • Practical working knowledge of Blueprint reading.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and organizational skills
  • Good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and time management skills
  • Budgeting and financial knowledge
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet software
  • Management and leadership skills
  • Communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 would be an asset.
  • Project Management ability would be an asset.
