Role Summary:


The Service Technician at Macdonald's Home Health Care is responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs for clients in their own homes, in-shop, and rehabilitation facilities.

This position requires a compassionate and resilient team member and an individual who is comfortable taking on a wide variety of tasks in order to best support our clients.

This role will be well suited to an individual with mechanical aptitude who wants to learn and evolve with a growing company.


Requirements:


  • Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge, computer software, and internet proficiency
  • Mechanical aptitude with an ability to use tools and a keen interest in repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
  • Lifting capabilities up to 100lbs
  • Teamoriented and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented
  • Quick thinking with the ability to make sensible decisions under pressure
  • An understanding of working with clients with a wide range of impairments
  • Effective at multitasking and working in a changeable environment
  • Must hold a valid BC driver's license
  • Healthcare industry experience is an asset
  • Previous experience with medical equipment would be an asset

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Visiting client homes to deliver equipment or to diagnose issues with clients' equipment/ deliver and install equipment
  • Explaining correct maintenance, issues, and repairs to clients
  • Lifting weight of up to lbs
  • Driving a Macdonald's HHC vehicle and representing the company in the community
  • Assisting with general shop duties to ensure cleanliness, organization, and a wellfunctioning workspace
  • Setting up equipment to best suit client needs following industry best practices
  • Troubleshooting and providing timely diagnosis recommendations for repair
  • Working with Seating and Mobility Consultants on equipment trials and demonstrations, in conjunction with healthcare professionals
  • Operating safely within our offices, warehouses, vehicles, and client homes
  • Working closely with our Customer Service Team
  • Completing relevant paperwork and updating client profiles pre and post appointment
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients
