The Operations Manager provides support to the Branch Leadership team and is responsible for day-to-day management of the warehouse, fleet, inventory and warehouse teammates.

Understanding Noble's inventory lifecycle and making recommendations to mitigate inventory risks is key.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership and guidance to your team to deliver on Noble's service commitment
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and development of your team to drive growth within your branch's market position
  • Engage in coaching conversations with teammates to create a culture of feedback, support, and positive influence

  • Engage in selfdevelopment practices such as product knowledge, warehouse procedures, and other courses specified by the Branch Manager
  • Review, document, and communicate to management all warehouse teammate issues, inclusive of absences, disciplinary issues, personal matters, and other policyrelated issues
  • Coordinate training process for new team members and ensure training program is complete for all employees, inclusive of completing Noble's Health and Safety documents and Noble's Code of Conduct
  • Coordinate and delegate all aspects of warehouse operational processes ensuring accuracy and integrity of inventory through each operational stage
  • Coordinate with the Fleet Team to organize drivers' runs in an efficient manner to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop a strategic plan in conjunction with the Branch Manager to ensure efficient and costeffective operation and utilization of the facility
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments regarding root cause/corrective actions concerning customer orders
  • Develop strategies to optimize the inventory management procedure
  • Collaborate with various supply chain stakeholders to ensure business goals are met
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues leading to inventory discrepancies
  • Facilitate and champion continuous improvement initiatives in all operations functions, utilizing Kaizen methodology where applicable
  • Report and analyze operational data and present to management when necessary
  • Manage and maintain system integrity between ERP and WMS Systems
  • Creating and setting of operations standards and procedures for the distribution center teams to follow
  • Ensure all material handling equipment and branch fleet is in good condition and properly maintained
  • Ensure the warehouse is maintained in a clean and orderly manner while adhering to Health and Safety regulations and Noble's Health and Safety policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must Haves:


  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated inventory control experience
  • Postsecondary Certificate in Supply Chain Management or similar industry related experience is preferred
  • ASCM accreditation or similar industry certifications would be preferred
  • Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma and/or Kaizen methodology is preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software is a requirement (WMS, ERP & ASRS)
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to effectively build a positive relationship with teammates
  • A team player who is a selfstarter and able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Knowledge of, or the willingness to learn advanced processes and champion innovation and change management
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with access to a vehicle
  • Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 (fifty) pounds

Nice to Haves:


  • Experience using Cognos Analytics Software is an asset
  • Basic Plumbing product knowledge is an asset
