    JOB SUMMARY

    The Director, Marketing is a leader within Combined's marketing team and works in collaboration with Combined Corporate leadership, Canada Sales and Distribution, SEOPs, Supplier Management and NA Marketing functions (Creatives Services, Social, Communications, Digital, Events, A&I, to help plan and execute marketing strategy, campaigns and corporate initiatives that support the growth and success of Combined Insurance brand, sales, recruiting and market development success in Canada.

    This role requires a self-motivated marketer with experience in designing, activating, and optimizing effective national and regional marketing programs, that engage prospects and customers and drive sales. This person will be required to help build new marketing capabilities and influence strategy using data analytics and performance metrics, as well as industry research and insights, to grow and retain group customers and enrollments. The Director, Marketing will report to Combined's AVP of Marketing for Canada.

    The Director, Marketing will drive the development and execution of omni channel marketing campaigns on and off-line, including media planning, CRM of in-force block, lead generation, nurturing and conversion, while increasing visibility for Combined, with independent agents, MGAs, brokers, and influencers.

    The ideal candidate is a strategic and tactical marketer with hands-on experience in designing, activating, and optimizing customer-centric marketing campaigns, that enable Sales to initiate and strengthen customer relationships.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the sales organization and leaders to listen, synthesize and guide relevant marketing strategies that best support group sales and recruitment needs and market opportunities.
  • Develops targeted and/or personalized strategies and tactics that enable sales to initiate, strengthen and retain customer relationships, in partnership with sales and Combined's sales enablement teams.
  • Plans and executes national and regional multi-channel marketing campaigns targeting business leaders, brokers and influencers, in effort to generate new business leads and opportunities, including on the Web, social media, email, and sales collateral and presentations.
  • Track marketing campaign effectiveness and uses data to inform and guide new/evolving tactics that result in effective lead generation and/or customer retention.
  • Create engaging, valuable content that demonstrates expertise and leadership, drives awareness, generates leads, and that can be used for customer engagement.
  • Leads projects with agency partners to support high-quality campaigns and collateral development and activation, providing writing and/or editorial direction when needed to ensure strong and relevant messaging.
  • Works with sales and operations teams to understand and monitor sales activities and opportunity management, including in Power BI and/or other customer centric tools.
  • Understands the group sales process and cycle and ensures optimal sales and marketing tools and resources to maximize sales conversion and effectiveness.
  • Tracks marketing campaign effectiveness and uses data to inform and guide new/evolving tactics that result in effective lead generation and/or customer retention.

  • Strong understanding in content marketing, digital marketing, and social media channels to reach and engage business decision-makers and/or brokers.
  • Understanding of research (primary and secondary) application to further marketing and business strategies and outcomes.
  • Works with urgency in a fast-paced sales-driven environment, sets and meets deadlines to ensure timely delivery and to meet business and sales needs and expectations.
  • Adept at problem solving and handling complex details. Uses independent judgment and takes initiative in absence of specific directions. Must have strong personal drive and initiative.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred degree in marketing, communications or related major.
  • Experience in Business-to-consumer (B2C), Business-to-Business (B2B), influencer and/or broker marketing environments
  • Insurance and/or employee benefits experience a plus
  • 10+ years of solid experience in marketing with 2+ years in a leadership capacity
