SALARY:
$21/hour


SHIFT:
Mon-Thur ( on-site: North York) 10 hours shift: 6am to 4pm

Mill Street Brewery is a leading craft brewer with a portfolio of over 70 unique and innovative beers.

Founded in 2002 in Toronto, it is today the largest brewer of certified organic beer in Canada and produces some of the country's most environmentally responsible beers.


ROLE SUMMARY:
A great opportunity to work in our Lab learning about Brewery Production and QA standards.

The QC Lab Technician is responsible for monitoring and facilitating sample testing and quality assurance within the lab.


Reporting to the QA Manager, the QC Technician is a key position who must be a self-starter with great energy and true passion for our beer and culture.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform every task SAFELY, efficiently, and effectively work to attain department and brewery goals and objectives.
  • Monitor the quality of in process beer as well as finished goods.
  • Operate and maintain various laboratory equipment ensure the equipment is working as intended and that the product is within specifications
  • Maintain accurate quality control records of throughout various processes
  • Maintain communication between departments, raising any issues to the appropriate line managers
  • Clean and maintain lab and equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Contribute and direct followup of product testing, deviations, and trends.
  • Assist production associates with line & product monitoring as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards a degree in food & beverage science, biology, chemistry, or related field of study.
  • Passion for learning and understanding laboratory and brewing operations
  • Strong communicator and energized through team collaboration and supportive of team members development.
  • Able to operate testing equipment with basic data analysis skills.
  • Competent in safe operation practices and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Cooperative experience using a variety of laboratory equipment and use of chemicals for testing purposes an asset
  • A passion for beer an asset
