Purchasing Manager - Guelph, Canada - Student Transportation of Canada

Responsibilities
- Coordinates Procurement initiatives for Canadian Operations.
- The key interface between vendors and all internal customers within the Company's Canadian Operations.
- Enable corporatewide cost savings and serve as the primary line of support for Canadian operations relating to Procurement.
- Supports category management activities through providing supplier data, spend information, and any other relevant information to assist with the optimization and strategic sourcing of managed spend category.
- Set and maintain supply chain master data strategy to support price checks and consolidation programs.
- Possess a detailed knowledge of parts associated with the Service department.
- Keeps current on new products and product updates.
- Create and maintain parts numbers, suppliers, and the parts master file.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
- Primary focus is on parts and other maintenance spend related to school and charter bus fleet.
- Maintain/ enhance process documentation and direct training activities to support effectiveness and consistency within purchase programs.
- Assist managers and technicians in determining parts and accessories needed for vehicles to ensure form, fit and function are considered as part of decisionmaking process.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of heavy and light duty school busses and trucks and equipment preferred.
- Experience in fleet parts purchasing.
- Experience in technology Procurement/Vendor process/systems design and implementation, vendor relationship and risk management.
- Experience with an ERP system and eProcurement suite, specifically Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement.
- Experience with the configuration and maintenance of supplier punchout catalogs.
- Certified Purchasing Manager CPM)
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Microsoft BI
- Experience with project management delivery methods.
- Strong "customer service/ satisfaction" focus with the ability to drive results.
- Strong communication skills.
Physical & Additional Requirements
- Ability to walk, bend, twist and turn
- Climbing stairs may be required
- Ability to travel based on business needs to various interprovincial locations.
