About the Opportunity:


Under the direction of the Manager of Nutrition & Food Services and in collaboration with the Clinical Dietitian, the Dietetic Technician (DT) conducts nutrition risk screening based on a pre-defined program.

Using the established criteria, the DT identifies patients at risk and refers these patients to the Dietitian. The DT interviews patients and documents pertinent information.

The DT is responsible for completing various menu management activities, including taking meal orders for patients on specialized diets or at risk of malnutrition, inputting data into various computer programs, and supporting patients in optimizing their oral intake in coordination with the Dietitian.

In addition, the DT is responsible for straightforward nutrition education.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Food Service Supervisor certification or acceptable equivalent (2-3 years undergraduate program in food and nutrition or a combination of nutrition and food service courses)
  • General knowledge of the function and operation of Food and Nutrition Services, with particular knowledge of quantity and quality food service to patients
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and basic nutrition
  • Computer skills preferred; knowledge of the "Vision" menu management system is an asset
  • Excellent communication, teaching, time management, and organizational skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $26.92 hourly
