Due to continued growth, we are seeking an
Accounting Specialist to join our team of dedicated and long-serving employees at our Mississauga, ON office.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Prepare & analyze monthly financial statements, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other adhoc reports
  • Investigate any variances and provide commentary on monthly results
  • Monitor & ensure accounting data and processes are compliant with ASPE and company policies
  • Assist with accounts payable processing, vendor payments, and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Support the Payroll Manager with payroll processing, employee benefits program & other HR duties
  • Perform bank reconciliations and work with the bank to address any issues & inquiries
  • Provide support to the accounting staff
  • Work with department managers to resolve any discrepancies and day to day issues
  • Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations
  • Assist with audits, HST/QST tax filings, and other adhoc tasks as required

Required Experience and Skills:


  • Achievement of an Accounting Designation or Certification (or in progress) preferred, or equivalent in education and experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of successful work experience in a similar position in a corporate service environment required
  • Proficiency with an accounting program such as MoveWare, SAP or AS400 required
  • Excellent understanding of ASPE and internal controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical skills
