About Mothercraft's Centres for Early Development: Mothercraft currently operates five Centres for Early Development (CEDs) - Brookfield Place, Eaton Centre, Robertson House, Midtown, and Avondale.

All Mothercraft CEDs are directed by the same goal:
"to support healthy child development across all families" and offer enriched quality, full day learning from 3 months to 6 years of age. The Centres' hours of operation are generally from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday.


Position Description:


  • Provides nutritional meals and snacks to the children throughout the CED Centre that are in compliance with the Childcare and Early Years Act food requirements and Canada's food guide
  • Monitors restrictions and diets for children as needed
  • Manages and monitors food supplies and purchase in accordance to the needs of the Centre
  • Adheres to program statement, policies and procedures

Your experience and qualifications includes:


  • A High School Diploma, Food Preparation Diploma preferred
  • Food handler certificate from Public health
  • Work experience in a child care setting is an asset
  • Knowledge of practices, methods and procedures of largescale food preparation, food values and nutrition, personal hygiene, food handling, sanitation, and safety precautions
  • Knowledge of care and use of kitchen utensils and equipment, record keeping and report preparation
  • French language skills is an asset

Position requirements:


  • Satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check
  • Full vaccination with a recognized COVID19 vaccine
  • Immunizations and health assessment in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs
