Responsibilities:
Scheduling/Telephone
- Greet incoming patients and ensure patient demographics are current in the computer. Advise provider electronically that a patient arrived
- Collect payment and issue receipts for any uninsured service
- Schedule appointments for patients according to the physicians guidelines
- Notify patients of any changes to scheduled appointments. Phone messages to patient in a timely manner
- Efficiently schedule same day or acute appointments
- Triage patients requesting information on test results, prescriptions, clinic information or diagnosis to the appropriate team member
- Answer incoming calls cheerfully, promptly, courteously
- Ensure complete knowledge of existing software system. Initiate daily system startup and shutdown procedures. Perform routine troubleshooting
- Be familiar with the operation of various equipment within the clinic such as; photocopier, fax machine, scanner and multiline telephone system
- Maintain accurate and concise documentation of all patient encounters in a timely manner, including telephone conversations, conveying of test results, and office encounters with the computerized EMR system.
- Liaising with all allied health, specialists, pharmacies, etc as requested by the provider
Communication
- Triage patient telephone calls and questions using problemsolving skills within the scope of practice. If unable to solve problem, direct call to the appropriate staff member
- Listen and respond appropriately when interacting with patients and their families
- Demonstrate openness to accept changes that support quality of care.
- Attend all general staff meetings unless on approved vacation or absence due to sickness/emergency
- Attend and be an active participant in regularly scheduled performance reviews
Procedures
- Open and close the clinic, turning on/off all equipment and locking all applicable doors
- Review all faxes on fax server and disburse as required and every hour after
- Triage all incoming and outgoing documents ensuring date stamped and scanned as directed by the physician
- Process outgoing faxes within one hour of receipt
- Coordinate specialist referrals and appointments as directed by the physician
- Prepare all incoming WSIB forms for billings as directed by the physician
- Print daily summary reports each evening for each physician
- Triage "TO DO" list to ensure items are completed in a timely manner
MOA Responsibilities
- Assist nurses with nursing duties
- Prepare/clean exam rooms prior to a patient being seen
- Seat patient in the exam room
- Prepare patient for exam (explain preparation, give patient gown)
- Take medical history, reason for visit and enter information in SOAP note or specific stamp as pre reason for visit
- Take vitals: blood pressure, pulse, height, weight
- Collect urine test/ HCG test and record results in chart
- Assist physician with procedures in lab
- Label specimens to be sent away for culture/ results
- Bring up/take down blue lab box for lab to pick up at end of day
- Performing other duties as required
Other
- Responsible for reviewing and documenting of uninsured services
- Responsible for reviewing the diagnostic requisitions and follow up on results

Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week
Salary:
From $18.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift

- No weekends
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Shelburne, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
