The Opportunity:

The City of Selkirk is currently in search of After School Program On-Site Supervisors to join our team.

This position under the supervision and direction of the Program Coordinator and in accordance with organizational philosophy, goals and standard practices, acts as the lead while on site, providing direction to leaders.

The Supervisor will be the point of contact for parents/guardians at each respective school and will ensure that all communication and reporting is complete and shared with the After-School Program Coordinator.


Job Duties:


  • Administrative
  • Respect the rights of confidentiality and privacy in all matters affecting or involving the program and/or service.
  • Complete reports on all activities as required.
  • Complete a written evaluation report and final inventory at the end of the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with this job description and approved program policies, standards and procedures.
  • After-School Program
  • Develop program activities, implementation and supervision of all activities.
  • Responsible for supervision of all program participants.
  • Responsible for the daily arrival registration and departure of participants.
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are in place on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the care, upkeep and storage of all equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, consistent with this job description and approved program policies, standards and procedures.

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:


  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Minimum qualifications shall include:

  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Possess skills in Drop-In programs (i.e. environmental, crafts, group recreation, special activities, etc.)
  • Demonstrated administrative skills and abilities.
  • Highly organized and able to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence.
  • Current clear Criminal Reference Check.
  • Current Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certification

Comments:


This is for a casual position ranging from October 2023 to tentatively March 15th, 2024, working 20 hours a week based on a flexible schedule.

This position is excluded from the Collective Agreement and is open to all applicants.
