    The Opportunity

To continue to protect its existing assets and enable its growth objectives, Wolf is seeking a Senior Cyber Security and Data Governance Advisor. This is a contract position reporting to the SVP - Legal and Corporate Services.

    This contract position will have an initial scope to assess the company's overall cyber security and data risks, the existing programs for managing these, and make both short-term and long-term strategic recommendations to strengthen these. The successful candidate will be tasked with conducting a broad assessment of our current systems, their business criticality, and how we use our information. They will develop the company's priorities to ensure there are appropriate controls in place to both prevent and prepare for major incidents, including developing business continuity and disaster recovery plans. The role will also involve assessing the existing cyber security governance structure and making recommendations for improvements, including alignment of IT and OT security standards as well as supporting the ELT in managing ongoing cyber security risk.

    The Senior Cyber Security and Data Governance Advisor role will be based out of the Calgary head office. Some limited travel to Wolf's field offices in Fort Saskatchewan, Sturgeon, Conklin, and Marianna Lake may be required on occasion.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous refinement of our cybersecurity framework to protect IT and OT environments, incorporating data governance and information management practices
    • Direct and enhance our incident management, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery planning efforts, ensuring timely response capabilities and minimal disruption to operations. This will include conducting a broad business impact assessment to identify, quantify, and prioritize the company's most important systems and processes
    • Work with business groups to develop business continuity plans to withstand potential impacts to the critical our systems and processes
    • Evaluate Wolf's existing Cyber Security Program, including the framework, governance, and resourcing, and recommend further improvements
    • Work with IT and OT groups to align security standards towards a "One Wolf" approach of risk mitigation, including the secure management and sharing of information

    Qualifications and Experience

    Education:

    • Post secondary degree in the areas of Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Data Science or Engineering
    • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience leading and building enterprise-wide cyber security programs and data governance and information management strategies, preferably in the energy sector or critical infrastructure
    • Cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CIPP would be an asset

    Skills:

    • Ability to strategize broadly regarding IT related risks and conduct risk assessments, develop proactive risk mitigation strategies, and evaluate risk controls
    • Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure situations and crisis, with experience in cyber incident management, BCP, DRP

    Experience:

    • Experience with managing IT compliance, data governance, and aligning IT/OT cybersecurity environments
    • Experience working with senior management and communicating with a board of directors; proven ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and develop business driven strategies
    • Familiarity with the energy sector and industry specific systems and security standards and regulations
