Description

The Family Champion Facilitator (FCF) delivers dynamic and engaging activities in different network settings to families with children of all ages.

FCFs work from the perspective that all families have potential and seek to develop resilience, skills, and healthy living to strengthen family bonds and create a path for positive child development.

**This position is a temporary 6 month contract working 37.5 hrs/week working Monday

  • Friday. Some evenings and weekends may be required.**

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Participate in ongoing opportunities for professional development.
  • Deliver developmentally appropriate, evidencebased activities in communitybased settings.
  • Work in alignment with specified program approach(es).
  • Provide service in a timely manner, working to ensure that activities are delivered in a structured and regularly scheduled fashion.
  • Coordinate along with team members for the shared responsibility of child minding and room setup/clean up for program delivery.
  • Engage with families in a manner that is responsive to and respectful of diversity.
  • Complete all case related documentation within the department's identified timelines.
  • Use program technology to communicate and record information as required.
  • Collect and enter required client and measurement data within specified timelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant best practices.
  • Engage in activity to maintain good standing and active registration with their respective regulatory body.
  • Active participation in full breadth of supervision activities at YW.
  • Active participation in program and broader organizational activities and initiatives.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for YW Calgary by way of professional communication and behavior while performing YW business.
  • Perform duties and engage colleagues in an ethical manner that adheres to relevant standards of practice.
  • Behave in alignment with YW personnel code of conduct and related expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Early Childhood, or Human Services and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Two plus years working with children, youth, and families.
  • Organization, time management, and writing skills.
  • Current first aid and CPR required.
  • This position requires bending, lifting, walking, may lift items up to 25 lbs including children when providing child minding services

Experience:
Preferred

  • 2 year(s): working with children, youth and families.

Education:
Preferred

  • Bachelor of Human Services or better
  • Diploma in Child and Youth or better

Licenses & Certifications:
Required

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscit
  • First Aid and CPR Level C
