    Job Summary


    Reporting to the Senior Director, Project Management (Supply Chain Transformation), the Director, PMO Center of Excellence and Business Partnerships role is responsible for the portfolio, program & project management framework & governance strategies as well as implementation across the Business Unit. This diverse and national mandate will include, but is not limited to, system solution transitions & enhancements, implementation and optimization of distribution systems, processes and tools, network optimization, construction & infrastructure, and business process transformation. Superior communication skills to effectively engage and promote collaboration among multi-function and/or cross-BU project teams, at all levels of the organization, is critical to the success of the Director PMO Center of Excellence and Business Partnership function.

    Section A – Specific Responsibilities


    PROJECT MANAGEMENT CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

    Establishes & promotes a Culture of Project Excellence. Owns the development & innovation, implementation & enhancement of the Project Management Framework & Strategies, including best practices, systems, processes & tools. Overseas the adoption of the standardized project management practice nationally and cross-functionally in a matrix organization. Manages & drives accountability throughout all project teams, takes the initiative to identify conflicts across projects, plan for resources, controls key milestones & target dates to ensure achievement of portfolio milestones & deliverables. Identify risks and provide expertise to project teams in the development of mitigation strategies as well as managing first level escalations and communicating concerns to executives (as needed) Portfolio Management & Reporting: develop & publish dashboards & own project performance KPIs, project auditing & evaluation. Ensure proper project documentation and communication across all project teams.

    BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP & ADVISOR

    Expert advisor to business leaders on project definition & planning, prioritization strategy and resource management & capacity planning. Develop cross-functional management framework and governance to support key operating models & partnerships. Manage senior stakeholder relationships to ensure that expectations and priorities are clear, and that all required resources (people, processes & tools) are in place for successful project outcomes. Identifies dependencies within the portfolio and across projects that will affect priority sequencing and resource allocation decisions. Responsible for preparing comprehensive monthly/bi-monthly portfolio overview for Executive Leadership, in accordance with the organization's portfolio and project reporting needs. Maintains relevant business knowledge of supply chain strategies, network transformation & portfolio governance approaches, and stays abreast of market and industry trends to advise the organization to develop & maintain competitive advantages. Identifies potential synergies and areas of opportunities to create and scale business value across the organization.

    TEAM & PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

    Manage growth of professional PMO team managing large, complex, strategic & cross-functional programs and portfolio of projects. Responsible for the training, mentoring, professional development and performance management of direct reports (PMO Team). Coach and support departmental project management resources to ensure all projects are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements. Leads PMO to drive execution of cross-functional initiatives.

    Section B – Required Knowledge & Experience


    WORKING EXPERIENCE

    12+ years' experience in project & portfolio management or supply chain management, including 4+ years of management experience. Demonstrated experience in Distribution & Operations functions, Portfolio Management & Supply Chain Strategies in a matrix organization. Solid experience in presentation, facilitation, and ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely to engage and inform target audiences.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS

    Ability to develop & configure project management systems, processes & tools, analyze & synthesize results, define tracking & reporting mechanisms. Strong ability to analyze situations and solve problems that satisfy multiple perspectives. Strong systems application knowledge and telecommunication skills, including an excellent knowledge of: SmartSheet, Microsoft Office Suite and Database Management & Analytics Systems

    Section C – Education requirements


    Bachelor's degree in engineering, Logistics & Operations Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent business experience MBA or MSc designations are assets. Project Management Professional certification or Six Sigma certification is preferred.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
