Environment and Local Government (ELG) / Waste Diversion Branch

Placement Description:

Are you passionate about making positive changes to our environment? The Waste Diversion Branch of the Department of Environment and Local Government is looking for a motivated individual to help effect positive changes to how our province diverts waste from our landfills to be reused, recycled, composted, and more.

You will assist the branch with developing new or expanding existing waste diversion programs, including meeting with stakeholders, researching possibilities for improvement, carrying out an inventory of organic waste diversion programs in NB and analyzing retrieved data related to solid waste management.

You will also assist with developing content for educational materials to raise awareness and elicit behavioural change province-wide.

You will also assist the Authorizations Branch with audits, template development, and data entry for various industrial sectors and help develop various documents for the remediation program.


Qualifications:


  • Language requirement: English (French is an asset)
  • Should be enrolled in a university with a focus on science, environmental management, engineering program or equivalent program
