JOB SUMMARY


Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), we are seeking a dedicated and organized Controller to join our team at iScope Concussion and Pain Clinics.

As the Controller, you will provide professional oversight to all aspects of financial operations, lead a team of finance specialists, oversee all aspects of financial and corporate policies, while ensuring day-to-day financial operations are aligned with the strategic objectives and operational priorities of the organization, and compliance with GAAP, provincial and federal reporting, and other industry standards and regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provides professional oversight to all aspects of financial operations (e.g. planning, budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll, forecasting, accounting, analysis, controls, and reporting) ensuring compliance with GAAP, provincial and federal reporting, and other industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads and manages finance department staff including delegating tasks, managing performance, approving leaves, overseeing training and development, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety as well as workplace operational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the oversight of trial balance, general ledger, and subledgers, fixed asset schedules and related depreciation calculations.
  • Provides expert advice, recommendation and status reports regarding financial planning, analysis, reporting and related matters in collaboration with the operating team.
  • Manages monthend financial reporting process, intercompany accounts and reconciliations with affiliated entities, and conduct financial and performance review with management team.
  • Oversees all aspects of the organizations finance and corporate policies, standards, and operations; and contributes to the strategic direction and management.
  • Prepares annual budgets and conducts financial planning and analysis in collaboration with leadership team members, to ensure programs, operations, and services anticipate and adapt to changing conditions and future developments.
  • Prepare working papers and liaise with auditors for various types of audits (financial audits, tax authority audits, internal control reviews).
  • Participates in financial risk analyses and develops risk mitigation/acceptance strategies.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses and administrative duties as necessary, including maintaining accurate record of inventory and manage periodic inventory counts.
  • Collaborates with other leadership team members on the development and implementation of programs, projects, services, and initiatives and provides financial support.
  • Ensures that daytoday financial operations are aligned with the strategic objectives and operational priorities of the organization, and comply with operational policies, procedures, and funding agreements.
  • Conducts financerelated issues management and escalates unresolved issues to the COO, as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in a finance function supporting operations. Working in a multilevel outpatient clinic environment is as asset.
  • Experience in a multiprovincial environment would be considered an asset.
