Box truck deliveries for events industry working from our Burlington facility.Delivery and pickup of the following:
furnishings, dishware, tenting, flooring, etc. Driver to work with assistant and setup/ dismantle as required at various client job sites. As part of field operations team, safely operate our delivery trucks. When not working in field, there are opportunities to assist in our warehousing operations.
Duties:
- Drive a company delivery truck, delivery/installation and dismantle/pickup of company-owned tenting, flooring, furnishings, etc.
- Liaise with customers on job sites, presenting professional, courteous company image and ensuring customer needs are being effectively addressed.
- Work with other members of company's operations team, and with all staff to promote and maintain positive workplace safety awareness and practices
- Liase with company sales & marketing staff, as needed, on job-specific information for particular project setups/removals.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (only when proper training has been provided and documented) both in the warehouse and at off-site jobsites.
- Work in the warehouse on inventorying, cleaning, repairing, and efficiently storing tent-related equipment (fabric and hardware) - coordinating with the operations coordinator as needed to ensure proper inventory record-keeping.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the _Occupational Health _
and safety policies and procedures
- Identify and, where appropriate, correct workplace hazards noted and
- Effectively communicate any safety-related issues immediately to crew
- Liaise with the Joint Health and Safety committee to ensure compliance with all aspects of the company's training policy including orientation training requirements, and on-the-job training documentation.
- Additional projects as they arise.
- Contribute to team success.
- Conform to all Special Event Rentals Policies & Procedures.
- All law is to be followed without exemption. i.e labor law, highway traffic act, criminal law, environmental law etc.
Work Tools:
- Operating workshop in the plant of the Special Event Rentals building - this workshop has tools for your disposal.
- Personal protective equipment - to be supplied.
- Work Boots
Education, Skills/Experience needed:
- Min. 2 years' experience in the event rental industry, with supervisory experience (Ideal, not required)
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Valid driver's license & experience driving heavier vehicles
- Time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Self-starter.
- Well organized.
- Physical fitness required for installation and dismantling
- Positive attitude.
- Continuous improvement efforts.
Compensation:
1. $ an hour, with overtime as required during busy season
2. 3 weeks' vacation
