IT Business Analyst (REMOTE - NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE WHO CAN COME TO OFFICE WHEN REQUIRED)

Typical Day in Role:
- Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
- Performs data profiling, analyzes and communicates results in support of data quality processes
- Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
- Participates in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
- Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions.
- Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
- Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Assesses, researches, analyzes, and documents project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements
Must haves:
1. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst
- Data Governance and data management experience - Understanding of data concepts (metadata, data mapping, data quality, data modeling, data governance)
- Stakeholder/Project management experience - Strong experience of business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows
- Experience working with data management tools - Collibra
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of programming language
- Previous FI experience
- Cloud knowledge
- Experience with enterprise data lakes and data warehouses
Soft Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences
- Detail oriented and skilled in summarizing and provides insights from complicated processes
- Selfmotivated to solve problems and able to work collaboratively with other team members
Education and Certifications:
Strong technical education background, majoring in fields that require a high degree of analytical skills, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics or related field
Salary:
$46.00-$49.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
- Data analytics: 3 years (required)
