As a Building Operator you will ensure that the day to day operations of all properties in the portfolio are managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to the highest level of operational efficiency.

This role plays an integral part in maintaining Skyline's goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.

What you will be doing:


  • Regularly schedule visits to each property to monitor the activities of tenants and landlord contractors, and record site conditions.
  • Ensuring all preventative maintenance at the site is completed.
  • Review, monitor and inspect all building functions.
  • Participate in the afterhours oncall rotation and be available to respond to after hours emergencies on site.
  • Periodically review all service contracts and agreements in force to ensure the best practices and values are being achieved.

What we look for:


  • Good understanding of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, DDC BAS systems and Life Safety Systems.
  • Proven relevant mechanical/electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of commercial property management and of applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations (i.e. American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers standard, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, gas codes and standards, and the Boiler and Pressure Vessels Safety code)
  • Professionalism, sense of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Great time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule all work to meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years workplace experience.
