CNC Machinist - Edmonton, Canada - LJ Welding Automation

Responsibilities:
- Setup, program and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
- Setup production runs, as well as oneoff prototypes.
- Interpret blueprints from engineering.
- Operate manual lathe, saw and drill press when necessary.
- Program machines using Gibbs Cam or Mazatrol.
- Inspect parts using appropriate measuring tools to ensure parts meet drawing specifications.
- Complete inspection reports and required paperwork for each project.
- Label parts and stage them for next operation.
- Provide feedback to department lead to improve manufacturing process.
- Operate machine tools, air tools, cranes and forklifts in accordance with safety protocols.
- Participate in safety meetings and discussions to help grow our safety culture.
- Perform basic preventative machine maintenance.
Role Requirements:
- Gibbs Cam and/or Mazatrol programming experience is an asset.
- Experienced in setting up CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Well versed in machining tools for various operations.
- Experience running manual lathes, mills, drill press and hydraulic press.
- Journeyman Machinist Certificate is an asset.
- Ability to safely prove out new programs on CNC lathes and mills.
- Forklift and crane experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet specified deadlines.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Working around large machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$30.00-$40.00 per hour

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- machinist: 4 years (required)
