Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper is a leading northern bleached softwood kraft and northern bleached hardwood kraft pulp, paper, newsprint and directory producer. Located on Lake Superior, the Thunder Bay mill has been a landmark company of northwestern Ontario since 1919. The Water Quality Superintendent will be responsible to lead and coordinate the operation of the water intake and effluent treatment systems that service a pulp and paper facility.

This includes a biological secondary effluent treatment system. You will also be responsible to manage the area focusing on safety, environmental, productivity, quality, costs, and efficiency.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee operations of incoming and outgoing water to keep site in compliance with pertinent regulations.
  • The Water Quality Superintendent will use their strong team building and leadership skills and successfully and safely achieve performance targets.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement training programs for the department.
  • Maintain and improve safety, quality, efficiency and capital upgrades.

Your profile:


  • Mechanical, chemical, or process engineering degree preferred, coupled with at least 3 years of Water treatment and/or Effluent treatment experience within a unionized environment.
  • Proficient analytical skills required as well as a strong background in MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance priorities that meet short and longterm objectives; uses organized and efficient work methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required, including an ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced and structured environment

Salary:
$100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
