    Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is presently recruiting for a
    The Staff Lawyer is under the direction, and reports to the Director of Legal Services. responsible for providing high quality legal services to Nishnawbe-Aski Nation community members and
    providing legal services in accordance with the NAN Legal mandate, vision, mission, and principles.
    Must be a lawyer, called to the Bar in Ontario, with relevant experience in Criminal law, Family
    law, and administrative matters and understanding of Indigenous law and justice.


    • Must have a membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
    • Excellent case and file management skills, administrative and coordination skills, stress
    Experience working within the Canadian legal system and knowledge of Indigenous justice issues
    would be an asset.


    • Proficient working knowledge of SharePoint/PeopleSoft, MS Office Software, Internet, and general
    office equipment


    • knowledge of the legal resources in the community for individuals, youth, and families
    • Ability to speak the language or knowledge of NAN First Nation languages an asset.
    6% pension matching

    Hours:
    Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)
