Reporting to the Regional Program Manager, SOGI 1 2 3, the SOGI 1 2 3 Lead - BC will manage the implementation of SOGI 1 2 3 in BC including the SOGI Educator Network, resource development, and special projects to facilitate the sharing the expertise on SOGI-inclusive education across the province.

Compensation Range:
$65,000 to $72,000 per year depending on skills and experience. A benefits package is also offered.

ARC Foundation's vision is a world where children and youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities live authentic lives.

ARC Foundation is the registered charity behind SOGI 1 2 3, an inclusive education program that equips educators with tools and resources for supporting 2SLGBTQ+ students and creating safe and inclusive school environments for all students.

ARC facilitates the delivery of SOGI 1 2 3 in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and the Yukon and is working to further expand its services to other parts of Canada.


MAIN FUNCTIONS


The SOGI 1 2 3 Lead - BC will manage the implementation of SOGI 1 2 3 including the SOGI Educator Network and resource development, alongside functions such as communications, reporting and evaluation.

The SOGI 1 2 3 Lead - BC will work closely with the SOGI 1 2 3 program team, the broader ARC Foundation national team and BC SOGI Leads participating in the provincial SOGI Educator Network.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Work with the Regional Program Manager, SOGI 1 2 3 to set provincial program strategy for BC.
  • Prepare, monitor and deliver an annual operational plan to ensure timelines are met.
  • Lead the BC SOGI Educator Network, including communications, regional meetings and activities, maintaining engagement and ensuring the timely sharing of information.
  • Facilitate the sharing of SOGI expertise across schools and districts.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and issue resolution support to District SOGI Leads and to SOGI School Leads in First Nations and independent schools.
  • Deliver the provincial SOGI 1 2 3 evaluation process, including surveys, interviews, analysis and reports.
  • Coordinate provincial reporting to ensure flow of information between the SOGI Educator Network, provincial SOGI 1 2 3 team and national ARC Foundation team.
  • Support the peertopeer network's development and delivery of content for SOGI District Lead and SOGI School Lead presentations and training throughout the year.
  • Work alongside ARC Foundation team members to develop and maintain strong relationships with provincial and local education and 2SLGBTQ+ community organizations.
  • Recruit, train and lead a team of provincial volunteers to support various aspects of programming.
  • Lead or support projects and initiatives that will expand or improve upon program offerings across the province.
  • Support ARC Foundation's fundraising activities, particularly those involving BCfocused initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's degree and five or more years' experience in complex program leadership, ideally in a notforprofit environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also applicable.
  • Knowledgeable about the context, initiatives and/or programs pertaining to sexual orientation and gender identity in BC.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with senior level leaders.
  • Confident working with a wide range of social groups.
  • A collaborative style which values connecting people, both in the community and within organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and infield approach to building community capacity.
  • A strong interest in creating systemic change to support students of all sexual orientations and gender identities; preference may be given to those with lived experience within the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
  • Experience and/or training in the K12 Education sector an asset.

THE FINER DETAILS

  • This is a permanent position; 1.0 FTE at 37.5 hours per week
  • The SOGI 1 2 3 Lead
  • BC must be based in BC and could work either as a fully remote employee, or have access to ARC Foundation's head office in Vancouver, BC
  • Some travel within BC will be expected.
