Richmond Steel Recycling Limited ("RSR"), is seeking a Forklift I (Non-Ferrous) Operatorto join the team located at 11760 Mitchell Road on Mitchell Island in Richmond, BC.

Overview:

The Forklift I (Non-Ferrous) Operator position is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Yard Supervisor.


Job Summary:

The Forklift I (Non-Ferrous) Operator must be experienced in driving a fork lift, skidsteer and bobcat.

Operates skid steer, and bobcat and forklift to assist unloading customers and load trailers to prepare for transport of Non Ferrous materials.


Responsibilities:


  • Loads and unloads Non-Ferrous material.
  • Must be able to operate the forklift and bobcat and have 23 years operatingrelated experience
  • Must be able to operate safely at all times
  • Be able to inspect all the mobile equipment before operation such as: the forklift and bobcat and fill out the inspection sheets.
  • Be able to effectively perform tasks independently.
  • Must be able to sort, process, and grade Non-Ferrous materials.
  • Adheres to pile management procedures.
  • Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
  • Observes and reports any safety issues
  • Inspect material for hazardous waste and grades different types of Non-Ferrous materials
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Understand and be able to grade all nonferrous material properly, with handson experience.
  • High school diploma (Or GED)
  • Wellarticulated and assertive.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to supervisors, maintenance personnel and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Mechanically inclined an asset.
  • Computer literature

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
