Kinsol Timber Systems is a leader in the design and construction of timber structures, from craft joinery to tall wooden buildings. We are growing and looking to add an experienced Construction Supervisor to our team in support of the planning & execution of our work, both here on the Island and elsewhere.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of a Supervisor:

  • Supervise a crew of up to 10 carpenters, apprentices, labourers, and supervisor.
  • Coordinate schedules with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communicate with project team regarding ASI's, RFI's, and Material Submittals.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite.
  • Preside over weekly meetings, as required, designed to coordinate the work.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.

Secondary Functions:


  • Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
  • Assist in approval of revisions.
  • Develop detailed work packages to support quality construction execution.
  • Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.
  • Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
  • Preside at preconstruction meetings with general contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst Team members and contractors.
  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Physically lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
  • Monitoring jobsite general health and safety.
