Position Description:

Our Occupational Health team is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to join their team

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

Running a clinic with booked visits and walk-ins;
Provide first aid to staff injured at work;
Provide initial work up for blood and body fluid exposures;
Provide follow up with specialists as needed;
Ensure all initial health assessments and needed immunizations are completed for all new hires;
Provide TB testing and readings and follow up, assist with other department needs as they arise (ie: exposures, resp season);
Followup with staff who have submitted Safety Learning System (SLS's).

What you will bring:

Two (2) year Community College diploma in Practical Nursing;
One (1) year of related experience;
Registered with the College of Nurses (RPN);
Knowledge of how to administer injections (IM, SC, intradermal);
Knowledge of how to perform head to toe assessment;
Knowledge of safe medication administration;
Knowledge of nursing process;
Basic first aid;
Mental health first aid;
Professional and respectful attitude;
Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, implement, evaluate and problemsolve;
Ability to participate as an active team member;
Advanced communication skills;
Ability to work independently;
Advanced computer skills;
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety;
Knowledge of WSIB and Ministry of Labour guidelines;
Knowledge of Public Health Initiatives and Measures.
