Position Description:

Our Occupational Health team is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to join their team

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Running a clinic with booked visits and walk-ins;
  • Provide first aid to staff injured at work;
  • Provide initial work up for blood and body fluid exposures;
  • Provide follow up with specialists as needed;
  • Ensure all initial health assessments and needed immunizations are completed for all new hires;
  • Provide TB testing and readings and follow up, assist with other department needs as they arise (ie: exposures, resp season);
  • Followup with staff who have submitted Safety Learning System (SLS's).

What you will bring:


  • Two (2) year Community College diploma in Practical Nursing;
  • One (1) year of related experience;
  • Registered with the College of Nurses (RPN);
  • Knowledge of how to administer injections (IM, SC, intradermal);
  • Knowledge of how to perform head to toe assessment;
  • Knowledge of safe medication administration;
  • Knowledge of nursing process;
  • Basic first aid;
  • Mental health first aid;
  • Professional and respectful attitude;
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, implement, evaluate and problemsolve;
  • Ability to participate as an active team member;
  • Advanced communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Advanced computer skills;
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Knowledge of WSIB and Ministry of Labour guidelines;
  • Knowledge of Public Health Initiatives and Measures.
