Do not confuse this with a cold-calling sales position. nor is this about just managing accounts.

This is about effectively, efficiently, and authentically connecting with real people - individuals who have reached out to us to learn more about Norwood sawmills and becoming the proud owner of a Norwood portable sawmill.

Your Top Priorities:


  • Become an expert in Norwood's sawmills and attachments to educate prospective and existing customers about features and benefits of Norwood equipment.
  • Ensure all prospective customers receive prompt, useful information through professional followups.
  • Diligently work with tools and processes within the CRM and other software systems.
  • Consult with prospective owners to evaluate their current and future sawmilling needs.
  • Provide sound advice so every future owner invests in a sawmill they can be proud of; customized to suit their unique requirements.
  • Quote engage in processdriven followup, close, and upsell products and accessories over the phone.
  • Strive to meet or exceed monthly targets related to sales, closing ratios, costs per sale, lead followup, etc...
  • Attend, and participate in periodic tradeshows and fairs as requested (necessitating occasional weekend travel).
  • Process sawmill and parts orders; liaise with order execution teams (i.e. shipping) and accounting.
  • Assist new and existing customers with customer servicetype inquiries related to shipping, packaging, and sawmill operation and service.

What it Takes to Succeed:


  • Minimum of 23 years of experience in equipment sales in a direct to customer sales role
  • Experience with inboundcalling, lead management and a good understanding of CRM software
  • Experience with Consultative selling and postquote, processdriven followup
  • Professional integrity and reliability
  • Excellent persuasion skills without compromising integrity
  • Drive to meet goals, accountability for meeting targets, and being mindful of metrics such as closing ratio, value per sale, cost per sale, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to close over the phone and upsell products and accessories
  • Ability to empathize with our customers' love of the outdoors and their work with wood in the forest or when farming.
  • Must be available to work in office 34 days a week.
