General Job Description:


The Processing Technician role involves working in a large cutting-edge commercial grow facility, utilizing techniques that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, adhering to all AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Working under the supervision of the Processing Team Lead, perform all tasks in the cannabis processing and Pre-Rolls sequence, including destemming, sorting and grinding of cannabis, weighing product, documentation and sanitization.

Other duties may include supporting the Packaging Team as required.


Major Duties:


  • Working as a member of the Pre-Roll Processing Team
  • Working with the processing teams, monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages, from bulk to final packaging of Pre-Rolls;
  • Ensure proper calibration, sanitation and maintenance of equipment in processing areas, as per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regularly inspect processing systems;
  • Monitor waste management removing waste products; recording the data following the existing approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for elimination of product;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks; report findings and/or concerns to Team Lead or designate;
  • Working as a member of the processing teams, perform safe and effective sorting, destemming, weighing, bottling, grinding of cannabis and bulk packaging of cannabis product;
  • Inserting ground cannabis product into Pre-Roll cone, weigh, verify and record each cone mass.
  • Destroy cannabis debris and waste products; recording the data following the existing approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for destruction of product;
  • Maintain a clean working environment, possessing an attitude of high standards of cleanliness;
  • Perform a "Prestart Line Clearance" of all equipment and areas within Pre-Roll Processing, including Knockboxes, scales, etc, using proper cleaner dilution and sanitizer solution;
  • Observe inventory of processing, Pre-Roll and packaging supplies, alerting Team Lead when levels reach reorder stage;
  • Verify packaging material is accurate and matched to specifications (labels, forms);
  • Ensure all aspects of the packaged product are compliant to specifications (labels, forms) before leaving the packaging area and placed in vault, immediately notify Quality Assurance of any nonconformance packages or labels.
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product;

Other Duties:


  • Perform safe practices and daily work tasks, follow work schedules, along with participating in performance reviews and investigations.
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and nondisclosure.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocol and regulations.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by Processing Team Lead.

Qualifications:


  • Post secondary Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or any other related discipline considered an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) considered an asset.
  • Experience in the cultivation of cannabis or other sensitive commercial crops is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language
  • Must be bondable.

From $16.50 per hour
