Job Summary


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Food & Beverage, Windsor Casino Limited, the Assistant Manager Banquets, provides supervision and guidance to employees and ensures that the banquet facilities are effectively prepared and the goals and objectives set out for the Banquet department are achieved.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Senior Manager Food & Beverage with the overall operation of the Banquet department while maintaining the Company standards and departmental budget.
  • Liases with various departments, managers and supervisors to ensure all Beverage Event Orders (BEO) needs are met and notes any updates to the BEO and communicates as required.
  • Trains, develops, schedules, orientates, evaluates, assigns duties and disciplines staff according to Company and Departmental policies, practices, procedures and the Collective Agreement.
  • Contacts and schedules replacement staff for sick calls and ensures coverage for break periods.
  • Compiles accurate payroll of staff for processing.
  • Ensures standards of operation are consistently met and maintained, and resolves any customer complaints related to those standards.
  • Assists with managing all aspects of the banquet department by reviewing the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and change log ensuring the room set up, temperature control, lighting, dietary restrictions and remaining event details are in place ; not limited to these tasks listed.
  • Ensures that all activities carried out within the scope of the department reflect the policies, philosophies and regulations associated with Casino Windsor.
  • Provides support, training and supervision to the banquet staff to ensure the successful operation of the department and the company.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to a College Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum three years management experience in a multiunit operation related to Food and Beverage or experience deemed acceptable by Windsor Casino Limited.
  • Valid Smart Serve certification required.
  • Knowledge of culinary production in a large scale operation preferred.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming Key Employee License.
  • Must be available to work all shifts.
