Summary of Duties
Reporting to the Co-ordinator, Client Services, Planning & Economic Development or Building Services. Provides administrative support and information to the public regarding planning, development and building services.


Work Performed

  • Provides assistance with compiling information and updating database information
  • Types, copies and distributes letters, correspondence and other materials
  • Scan documents and file them in the City's electronic document management system (Sharepoint)
  • Assists with generation of complaints and other documents
  • Assists with processing building complaints and lawyers letters
  • Assists with processing building, sign and pool fence permits
  • Processes online payments and journals
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience

Must be a current student enrolled in full-time studies returning to school full-time September 2023 and/or require this placement to graduate from an academic program.

Student enrolled in a full-time post
- secondary or graduate program of Office Administration or a related field.


Specialized Training & Licenses

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and data entry software
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm with high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in working with the public
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Compensation Range
$ Level 3)


Other Information
The posting is for 2 student positions.

1 position in the Planning & Development area & 1 position in the Building Services area

Temporary full-time student from May-September 2023.

Current hours of Work:
Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
