We are seeking a passionate Landscape Maintenance Attendant in Whitby, Ontario to join our village.

What we need
Under the supervision of the Manager, Technical Services, the
Landscape Maintenance Attendant performs various tasks related to the upkeep and general maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment, while using safe work methods.
You will support the elevation of our culture through the lens of our pillars: The best in wellness | The feeling of somewhere else | A trouble-free experience | In a natural state.
What you'll do
- Work with Landscape team to:
- Tend to (from starting and monitoring) fires/fire pits and wood storage
- Assist with general property maintenance (law mowing, gardening, pathways, etc)
- Assist with winter snow removal and deicing on paths
- Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas;
- Remove rubble and other renovation debris using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment;
- Oil and grease hoists and similar equipment;
- Support building technicians where applicable
- Perform other related duties.
Profile needed
What is the profile needed in order to be successful in this position?
- Minimum of three (3) year experience in related work;
- Minimum High School Diploma, College trade school, etc. is an asset
- Knowledge of maintenance techniques;
- Knowledge and use of landscaping tools is an asset
- Ability to properly use maintenance equipment and tools;
- Teamwork skills (autonomy, versatility);
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment;
- Ability to integrate safety into work procedures;
- Ability to follow emergency procedures;
- Good physical condition: ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23kg), ability to work in a noisy, hot and/or cold outdoor environment.
When
You will work on a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends, holidays). We are currently hiring for a rotating days/afternoon shift as well as an overnight shift.
You may be required to be on call for a pre-determined period.
