    Manufacturing Operations

  • Responsible for daily Xanathane process operations with focus on OIP manufacturing
  • Communicate and collaborate with teams to solve process equipment problems and address production concerns
  • Participate in team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members, customers, suppliers and other departments
  • Provide overall direction, training and supervision to contractors via routines and procedures
  • Manage maintenance schedules to maximize manufacturing capacity
  • Quality and Customer Service

  • Oversee quality assurance of products
  • Participate in health and safety and quality audit process
  • Monitor and analyze problems using SPC and other techniques to identify and implement corrective actions and new product launches
  • Drive standardization and WPS initiatives
  • Functions as a back up to cover and support the Manufacturing Manager as needed
  • Preventative Maintenance

  • Manage maintenance schedules to maximize manufacturing capacity
  • Supervise, coordinate and participate in maintenance activities
  • Process Optimization

  • Plan and execute process improvement experiments and drive continuous improvement
  • Prepare and analyze technical reports
  • Provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production and manufacturing activities and systems
  • Development of new or improved formulations
  • Capital and R&D Project

  • Initiate and develop projects using stage-gate development process
  • Participate in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members, customers, suppliers and other departments
  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or greater) in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial)
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience

  • 1-3 years hands-on experience in Polyurethane [PU] manufacturing with a working knowledge of WPS, SPC, DOE's, PU chemistry and troubleshooting, basic equipment operation and maintenance
  • Hands-on person with strong technical/mechanical aptitude, able to learn and develop new processes into standard operating systems from the ground up
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic, keen problem solving, communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent Project Management, strong Leadership skills and experience in managing contractors an asset
  • Must be able to travel globally; Ability to communicate in Mandarin/Portuguese/Spanish an asset
  • Willing to obtain forklift license certification
