JOB OVERVIEW:
Vacancy Status: This posting is for one existing vacancy.
We are currently seeking a reliable, highly organized, efficient, motivated, and detail-oriented Cardiology Technician on a part-time basis to work within our clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work with a skilled and collaborative team in a modern clinical setting providing high-quality, specialized, people-focused care. All duties are performed in accordance with PHIPA, clinic policies, and established clinical protocols to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform testing procedures with accuracy and precision, ensuring high quality data on patients of all ages.
- Administer Electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter Monitors, Pulmonary Function (Spirometry).
- Maintain patient records and testing data in compliance with all privacy, confidentiality, and security standards.
- Ensure all tests meet technical and diagnostic requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to testing while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Assist in preparing patients, explaining processes, and addressing concerns, preparing the room, and keeping accurate, detailed records.
- Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients, helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout the appointments.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in ECG technology and industry best practices.
- Uphold all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Follow procedures for proper equipment maintenance and ensure all are completed in accordance with department standards.
- Ensure equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of care.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of the team.
Qualifications:
- Experience in operating cardiology equipment.
- Experience with Stress Testing is considered an asset.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other computer systems.
- Valid CPR certification.
- IV experience is considered an asset.
- Completion of a recognized Cardiology program recognized by the Canada Society of Cardiology Technologists is not mandatory, but considered an asset.
- Current certification with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT), is not mandatory, but is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret results of cardiac data is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and enthusiasm for being part of a functional team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Must be dependable, reliable, and consistently attend to work.
- Must be willing to complete all internal training assigned in Citation (HR Downloads).
Additional Information:
- All employees are required to work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations.
- All employees are required to work in compliance with PHIPA legislation, understanding and having a deep respect for patient privacy and data protection.
- Position start date is expected to be March 2026.
- Schedule is determined by Cardiology management team and can vary week to week to best serve our patients. Shifts will be scheduled during clinic hours throughout the week (Monday to Friday, Daytime hours)
- Shift times may vary from time to time depending on patient load and operational needs.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
