Description

Objectives:


  • To provide a range of bookkeeping and accounting functions including invoicing and
collections, entering vendor bills and issuing payments, posting journal entries and other financial transactions.

  • To manage the accounting software, file backups
  • To respond to telephone and other inquiries from customers, vendors, employees as needed
  • To perform various office administration tasks as needed

Accounting functions

  • To set up and maintain accurate customer records and issue invoices on a timely basis
  • To set up and maintain accurate vendor records and process operating expenses on a timely basis.
  • To prepare and issue purchase orders, cheques and credit memos to clients & vendors.
  • To set up and maintain accurate employee records and prepare accurate payroll on a timely basis.
  • To prepare recurring monthly transactions (e.g. depreciation, loan disbursement, etc.) on a monthly basis
  • To prepare and maintain remittances to the Receiver General, WSIB, employee benefits, and other mandatory remittances.
  • To reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts and credit card accounts on a monthly basis

Reporting

  • To issue weekly Accounts Receivable reports and Accounts Payable reports

Education and experience

  • Minimum 2year diploma in related field, finance/accounting
  • Must have excellent excel & computer skills and be willing to upgrade skills as necessary.

Other Skills/Abilities:


  • Must have excellent computer skills and be willing to upgrade skills as necessary
  • Must have strong organization skills and be willing to perform in a multitask environment where priorities change quickly
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Salary:
$22.00-$26.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
