Position Overview

A day in the role of an Unregulated Care Provider at Tillsonburg Retirement Residence.


As an UCP at Tillsonburg Retirement Residence, you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue Provideral growth and professional growth.

In this position, you will be gifted with a rewarding experience every day in the form of being able to see the exact impact you place on our residents.

This position is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assisting with care such as toileting, bathing and dressing as needed,
  • Assisting with meals as needed,
  • Following the care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings and/or changes in patient/resident/client's behavior to the appropriate registered member of the healthcare team,
  • Administering medication and adhering to all medication administration policies and procedures,
  • Working under the supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional such as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN),
  • Performing tasks delegated to them,
  • Computer or paper documentation of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and other findings,
  • Reporting behavioral and clinical changes to a Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, Resource Nurse or Manager,
  • Laundry and housekeeping tasks as required.

The qualifications needed to join our family at Peterborough Retirement Residence are as follows:


  • PSW Certification preferred,
  • Training for Medication certification through Medisystem provided,
  • PSW experience in Retirement or longterm care preferred,
  • Mentally and physically able to perform duties as assigned,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, residents and families,
  • Demonstrates empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and service to residents,
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion,
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
- **Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.
