POSITION OVERVIEW


The Specialist, Business Quality Review, participates in implementation and ongoing delivery of quality control programs for BDC business units and selected corporate functions.

They review transactions, analyzes processes and makes recommendations to improve existing processes. They work at the national level and reports to the Assistant Vice President, Business Quality Review.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET- Review transactions, including documentation, to confirm compliance to regulatory and corporate compliance framework, adherence to directives and procedures, accuracy of the risk rating and adequacy of the due diligence performed.- Report and discuss findings with underwriter and/or authorizer.- Prepare reports summarizing the findings, make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of controls as well as compliance with corporate policies, directives and industry guidelines.

Validate the implementation of such recommendations. Keep abreast of key legal, compliance, market risk and credit risk issues.- Participate to committees and projects on behalf of the Business Quality Review group.- Assist the Assistant Vice President in establishing BQR's annual plan by providing input on developing a matrix of regions, types of loans, industry sectors, level of adjudication, etc.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration- 7-10 years in a lending role, or equivalent experience- BDC experience (preferred)- Strong credit and analytical skills- Bilingual (French and English)- Autonomy, thoroughness and good priority management- Proven knowledge of BDC's policies, directives and guidelines and regulatory compliance environment- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

- Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Effective coaching skills
