Shipper/receiver/forklift Operator - Brantford, Canada - CMBB Bakeware

Description

The shipping and receiving position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

• Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping for national and international shipments by prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
• Move materials about the production floor for storage, use in production, shipping or to keep the warehouse tidy and organized.
• Assemble skids for shipping, using wrap, ties, and straps as required.
• Load and unload trucks using lift truck and/or pump truck
• Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
• Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
• Maintain computerized recordkeeping systems
• Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods. Conduct morning safety checks on lift truck and pump truck
• Other Duties as may be assigned

• 2 years of shipping and receiving experience,
• Extensive knowledge of major couriers
• FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to operate their respective software packages,
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) is a must,
• High attention to detail essential with ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a busy environment,
• High attention to internal and external customer needs,
• Experience with preparing international shipments including customs documents is an asset, Must have a valid forklift license,
• Ability to operate Forklift and Pump Trucks safely and efficiently,
• Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up to 50lb
• Good written and oral communication skills,
• High attention to company's health & safety rules,
• Ability to multitask and assist the production team when required.
• Must be able to communicate with various chain of command and departments Must be have good computer skills
• Must wear PPE ( eye protection, steel toed shoes)

• 8 hour shift

• Shipping and receiving: 2 years (preferred)

• Forklift Licence (preferred)
