Stanley Park Eats Coordinator (Volunteer position)
Do you believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious meals?
We are looking for a coordinator for our Stanley Park Eats program, a weekly program which provides free, fresh meals to our neighbours in need.
Stanley Park Community Association
The Stanley Park Community Association is run by volunteers who plan and implement over 150+ recreational programs, community events and engage residents through community outreach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and implement Stanley Park Eats program
- Create weekly menu in collaboration with Lead Cook
- Scale recipes and create inventory sheets and tracking sheets for recipes
- Create weekly recipes, prints recipes and track recipe in kitchen binder
- Oversee kitchen inventory on a weekly basis as recorded by Meal Preparation Assistant
- Place food order for recipes on a weekly basis
- Pick up extra groceries as needed, if meals run out during service day
- Build and establish relationships with community partners to seek donations to run and sustain the Stanley Park Eats program
- Maintain budget for Stanley Park Eats program
Time Commitment:
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as needed to support Stanley Park Eats program
- Long term commitment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in program management an asset
- A desire to serve the community in an important function
- A team player willing to take responsibility
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Training and Professional Development:
- Basic Health and Safety, AODA and evacuation training provided
- Safe Food Handler Certification provided
- Facility tour and overview of Stanley Park Eats program
- Training in specific software used by the Association
- Opportunities to attend workshops, meetings, and other training sessions pertaining to the position
- Training and orientation will be provided by the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator or Community Engagement Lead
Supervision and Accountability:
- Ongoing weekly checkins to monitor position tasks
- Formal supervision will occur every three months, or sooner if requested
