Your Opportunity


As Medical Office Assistant, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for managing and maintaining positive relationship between patients, physicians, and employees, throughout Peak and Pinnacle.

This position reports to the Clinic Site Lead.


Your Mark:

  • Coordinate patient care through the clinic waiting room, exam room, and procedures
  • Be courteous, polite, and helpful to public and patients at all times
  • Printing of Physician day sheets daily in the event of an EMR technical issue
  • Explain clinic policy to patients in a polite manner when required
  • Schedule appointments for patients according to Doctor preferences
  • Daily COVID screening, obtaining patient temperatures, COVID sanitizing throughout the clinic
  • Make appointment reminder calls as directed
  • Reschedule patient appointments as necessary
  • Greet patients in person and over the phone and direct to appropriate location/service
  • Mark patients as arrived, cancelled, or 'noshow' in EMR
  • Maintain electronic medical records (EMRs) update patient allergies and demographics (Personal Health Number, address, phone number) and record each visit
  • Escort patients from waiting room to exam rooms and ensure patient and electronic chart is prepared for physician
  • Measure vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, height and weight, waist circumference, etc.) of each patient and record in electronic medical record
  • Share information gathered from patients with appropriate team members to assist in more comprehensive care of the patient
  • Assist in booking specialist, diagnostic and surgical procedures as required
  • Collect fees according to protocol (no show appt/ uninsured services)
  • Return phone calls to patients and relay advice and instructions from physician
  • Prepare examination rooms; setup, and maintain (restock) medical supplies and equipment in all examination and procedure rooms in the LPN absence
  • Keep accurate inventory list and order materials as necessary (Staples/Grand & Toy/ Culligan) informing your Site Lead when in need of supplies
  • Lock and unlock clinic doors at appropriate times (am/pm)
  • Scanning, downloading and linking of patient labs and documents into Electronic Medical Record
  • Administer requests for patient information (transfer patient files to/from other clinics, printing files, etc.) in accordance with protocols, ensuring confidentiality is maintained
  • Follow clinic guidelines and participate in the development of new ones
  • Participate in team and staff meetings as requested
  • Be ready to be hands on when Physicians require technical assistance
  • Assistance with training new staff when asked
  • Ensure the reception desk and waiting area is tidy
  • Participate in staff development programs and promote team cohesiveness
