    This position reports to the Sr. Geophysicist, GeoServices in the GeoServices & Land department.

    This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work.

    What you will do:

    • Contribute to the GeoServices team in providing quality geophysical support to potash mining operations
    • Operate microseismic acquisition and reporting workflow
    • Management of geophysical sensor network
    • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of geoscientists, engineers, and mine technologists to gather and integrate a variety of geophysical and mine datasets in order to identify and characterize geohazards and other phenomenon that are important for continuing safe operations
    • Ability to work with co-workers from many different personal backgrounds is essential
    • Ability to work with consultants, researchers, and other external entities
    • Ability to work outdoors and in the underground mine environment
    • Some travel may be required
    • Some longer than normal workdays may be required

    What you will bring:

    • The minimum educational requirement for the position of GIT is a post graduate degree specialized in Geophysics (or equivalent) from an accredited university
    • Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) (P.Geo., P. Eng, or both)
    • Geophysics (or equivalent) from an accredited university
    • Experience in applied geophysics to mining would be an asset
    • Excellent technical ability
    • Working knowledge of geophysical instrumentation
    • Regular support and involvement with all safety programs and active promotion of safety awareness
    • Thorough critical thinking skills
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Good written communication skills
    • Good oral communication and presentation skills
    • Ability and willingness to learn new skills
    • Ability to adapt to sudden changes in work demands
