About the role:

Join our Management team as the Housing Coordinator for the Carling Supportive Housing Program, where you'll work directly under the guidance of our Director, Adult Services.

In this role, you'll have the exciting opportunity to design, implement, and manage our supportive housing program, ensuring alignment with our operating and personnel policies as well as established clinical practices.

Leading a dedicated team, you'll play a crucial role in making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals in our community by providing essential housing support.

Programs and Services

As the Housing Coordinator, your responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing adherence to the established service delivery model
  • Ensuring staff complete necessary assessments and case planning tools
  • Directing interventions and programming based on the service model
  • Maintaining waitlist and occupancy rates
  • Managing screening, intake, and placement processes
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating service effectiveness
  • Staying updated on trends affecting service delivery
  • Writing and submitting proposals and grants as needed
  • Managing partnership agreements and service contracts
  • Overseeing agency Quality Assurance activities
  • Developing and implementing yearly program targets aligned with agency priorities
  • Creating work plans to achieve targets within deadlines.

Community Relations

  • Foster positive relationships with the housing community and collaborate with neighborhood agencies and service providers.
  • Address neighborhood concerns promptly and professionally, and engage in committee work on homelessness, youth, and justice issues. Join us in making a difference in our community
  • In consultation with Department Director, develop program marketing strategy that falls within the agency strategy and promotes a positive public image
  • Inform/keep Dept. Director aware of trends that influence/impact overall department image

Human Resources

  • Facilitate the recruitment process in accordance with HR policies and procedures, ensuring the selection of qualified personnel.
  • Working with HR, support the orientation and training of new employees, students, and volunteers, and collaborate with the Department Director on inservice and external training initiatives.
  • Additionally, oversee supervision and evaluation processes, provide direct supervision to staff, and implement strategies to enhance employee retention and satisfaction.
  • In collaboration with Department Director, ensure compliance with existing and newly developed operational and personnel policies, clinical practices and relevant legislative requirements

Financial Management

  • Take responsibility for implementing the program budget effectively and ensuring accountability.

Property Management

  • Supervise the maintenance and safety of the building and equipment, including adherence to municipal, provincial, and federal codes.
  • Coordinate renovations with the Department Director, implement emergency preparedness plans, ensure compliance with safety measures, and manage oncall duties related to building and resident issues.

Administrative/Other

  • Participate as required in Department strategic planning meetings/process
  • Input on Department strategic priorities based on internal agency trends and external community trends
  • Represent the agency through Board Client Services participation, community networks and committee meetings
