Position Summary:


Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Asset Management, the Asset Management Analyst will undertake detailed asset data analytics to support the advancement of the City's asset management program.

The Analyst will support the development of future corporate asset management plans, contribute to updating the City's internal Enterprise Asset Management System, assist with forecasting infrastructure investments requirements, and contribute to meeting internal and external provincial regulatory reporting requirements.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Advancement and Updating of

Asset Data:
The Analyst will assist with the collection, updating and analysis of asset data.

Data requirements include asset inventories, age, service life, condition, replacement costs, life cycle strategies, service levels, and risk framework calculations.

This will involve utilizing multiple data sources and systems and working as part of the Corporate Asset Management Team in collaborating with City staff.


  • Programming and Validating Asset Data in the

EAM:

The Analyst will assist with the asset data mapping and data logics for inclusion and updating of the City's EAM.

Once the data is loaded, the Analyst will validate the analysis generated from the EAM.

  • Capital Budget Support: The Analyst will support the capital budgeting process by assisting the Corporate Asset Management Team with generating and analyzing suggested infrastructure investments from the EAM.
  • Development of Data for Reports: The Analyst will assist the Corporate Asset Management Team with drafting Asset Management Plans and State of Infrastructure reports to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements are achieved by the specified deadlines. The Analyst will also assist with development of internal supporting documents, plans, and policies.
  • Enhancing the EAM Functionality: The Analyst will assist the Corporate Asset Management Team with identifying, implementing and enhancing improved functionality of the EAM as part of continuous improvements to mature evidence based asset management decisions.
  • Support Development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI): The Analyst will assist the Corporate Asset Management Team with identifying key performance indicators and monitoring results against measures and targets.

Education and Experience:


  • University Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Commerce/Business or related degree.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Asset Management certificates and or GIS certificates, considered an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience.

Required Skills/Knowledge:


  • Understanding of asset management best practices, including life cycle strategies, risk considerations, service levels, and state of infrastructure reporting.
  • Understanding of regulations associated with asset management, including Ontario Regulation 588/1
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience with ArcMap/GIS
  • Project Management and problem solving skills
  • Strong data analytics, written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player with effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working with multiple diverse stakeholders
